Gobelins JPO

Concept Development · Art Direction · 3D Design · Motion Design

Created during my year at Gobelins Paris in 2024, this project was developed for the school's Open Days. The goal was to create a visual identity that could introduce prospective students to the different programs and creative disciplines offered at Les Gobelins.

CONCEPT

The concept was built around clay as a metaphor for the student experience at Les Gobelins. Just as clay can be shaped into different forms, students arrive at the school ready to explore, develop and eventually shape their own creative practice.

PROCESS

I explored a wide range of materials and visual treatments, searching for something raw, tactile and constantly evolving.  From Lego, marble and sand to honey, gel and softer materials, each experiment pushed the identity in a different direction.

Eventually, I moved towards softer and more organic forms. They felt less rigid and gave me more freedom to explore motion, deformation and transformation.

IN CONTEXT

To bring the identity into the real world, I created a series of mockups imagining how the campaign could live throughout Paris and around the school.

The compositions explore the material being stretched, folded and deformed while still referencing the Gobelins logo.

FINAL THOUGHTS

This project was an opportunity to explore how a simple concept could evolve through material, motion and graphic design.

Working within a short timeframe pushed me to experiment quickly and make strong visual decisions without over-refining every step.
Looking back, there are elements I would continue developing — particularly the relationship between motion and typography — but the process became an important part of how I approach experimentation today.
