Project done at Les Gobelins for reimagining the Title Sequence for the movie Silent Running (1972) by Bruce Dern




CONCEPT


The movie tells a story of this Biologist that is trying to produce plant life in space, he has a bunch of different troubles and its a very good movie made in the 70s imagining the future tecnology. a sci-fy thriller with a slow pacing.

We decided to gather our Movion design team strenghts and work with a mix of 2D and 3D, giving this old tecnology effects and feel. With not very saturated colors and slow pacing we decided to do a paper test animatic before going into the final work





Aestetics
So i started with the first main animation taht it would be the leaf oppening up and i was still trying to figure out the best material and movement that could enhance the shot


Once i was happy with the result i did the other few objects and polished the main leaf animation
